We're in an unprecedented period in politics. Putting aside political persuasions, we need better legislation if we're going to fix our problems. How hard is it to write good legislation? Well just ask the army of lawyers, analysts, politicians, and lobbyists who spend BILLIONS of dollars to craft bills so that they not only accomplish their goals but make sure it's a lasting and important change with little likelihood of problems down the line. Up until recently, it was practically impossible to write laws without a sizable investment in people. That's all changed very quickly.

Since OpenAI released its free version of ChatGPT in December 2022, AI has become the most talked about new technology. Unlike recent hot new trends, crypto and NFTs, AI is not seemingly a Ponzi scheme. It's a game-changer. It will have significant and, yes, disruptive consequences for how we do work and how much we work. There are dangers to AI and I don't discount those. We have to find a way to build it responsibly so it doesn't get out of hand. I think I'm not alone in preferring that the Terminator stay on the screen and not left to wander the streets. Beyond the apocalyptic, there is the question of what to do when AI causes jobs and entire industries to disappear. That's not a topic I will address here but it should be on the minds of the tech community AND politicians. With that said, AI will do a lot of good. It automates work in a way we never thought would be possible. The kind of work that should be automated. In the same way that the advent of calculators made math easier to do. It is the Gutenberg press for the 21st century. There won't be a single industry that won't be changed and that includes government and its related industries.

SilcrowAI is a team of folks whose Venn diagram is of people who work in tech but have also worked in politics. A true blending of passions. I myself have worked in tech for over 10 years, some of it doing political tech (years of volunteer work for Tech For Campaigns as well as serving on the Warren For President campaign). Before all of that I worked as a campaign manager for a state house member and at the Washington State Senate. This kind of work is what I've wanted to do all of my life. My ethos is now SilcrowAI's ethos. Make people's lives better and easier. That's the kind of company SilcrowAI is.

  • By leveraging AI we can guide legislators, lobbyists, and laymen to create legal-proof bills virtually on the spot. Bills that can stand the test of time.
  • It can also assess the status of a bill. Both in its context and in its purpose. The ACA, or Obamacare as it's known, was a good-faith effort to shift how Americans get and receive healthcare. It was a Frankenstein bill with a lot of moving pieces. Pieces that have since been shown to be faulty and in need of serious revision. That's the nature of bills. They almost always need updating. What if you could analyze your bill to know of those blindspots before even submitting them? SilcrowAI can tell you that.
  • What if your bill is bogged down in committee or was deemed unconstitutional? SilcrowAI can track legislation and alert you to roadblocks in realtime.

SilcrowAI aims to be THE platform for legislation in the 21st century.
